To Our Book Dragons
A Message from Our Chief Executive Officer of Whimsy & Magic:
I want you to know that you are welcome here. —No matter your gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, health and disability status, age, or beliefs.
My goal is for you to enjoy your time here at Altheria, A Cozy Bookish Nook, and to always feel represented. That’s why I’m doing my best to choose clothing manufacturers who offer the widest size ranges I can find. I’m also trying to include product models that represent a broad range of skin colours, body shapes, and abilities. —Like persons using mobility aids, and the inclusion of the Sunflower Hidden Disability lanyard and button in some product images.
I personally know what it’s like to feel undervalued and forgotten by society due to chronic illness, chronic pain, disability, mental illness, and undiagnosed ADHD. (I was diagnosed only a year ago at nearly 40 years old). I don’t want anyone else to feel that way. So, I’m doing what I can to make everyone feel seen, heard, understood, and valued. —In small ways right now, but I hope to increase my efforts as more people discover Altheria and its whimsical, magical, bookish, healing charm.
I want you to know that you matter, and that I truly value you, your patronage, and your opinions.
Please let us know what we’re doing well, what you think needs improvement, and even drop your merch suggestions. We take your comments seriously and will implement any changes we can to continue to create a more positive experience for everyone here at Altheria, A Cozy Bookish Nook.
With lots of love,
Your Chief Executive Officer of Whimsy & Magic
